History of the “Green Mexican” Cocktail
The “Green Mexican” (Green Mexican) is a popular shot that became well-known in bars across the CIS in the 2000s. Although its exact origin is unknown, it is believed that the recipe was created through bartenders’ experiments to develop a bright and eye-catching drink.
The cocktail gets its name from its vibrant green color, reminiscent of Mexico’s agave fields, as well as its main ingredient – tequila, the traditional Mexican spirit.
Classic Recipe

- 15 ml banana liqueur
- 15 ml lemon juice
