Singapore Sling classic cocktail

Singapore Sling is a classic cocktail created in 1915 in Singapore by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. It is known for its complex and rich flavor, achieved through a mix of gin, liqueurs, and fruit juices.

Ingredients:

  • Gin – 30 ml
  • Cherry Liqueur (Cherry Heering) – 15 ml
  • Triple Sec (Cointreau) – 7.5 ml
  • Benedictine (liqueur) – 7.5 ml
  • Grenadine – 5 ml
  • Pineapple Juice – 120 ml
  • Lemon Juice – 15 ml
  • Soda Water – a splash (to finish the cocktail)
  • Angostura Bitters – 1–2 dashes

Garnish:

  • Pineapple wedge
  • Maraschino cherry

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add gin, cherry liqueur, triple sec, Benedictine, grenadine, pineapple juice, and lemon juice.
  3. Shake well until chilled.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a tall glass (highball or Collins) filled with ice.
  5. Add a few dashes of Angostura bitters and a splash of soda water.
  6. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry.

Tip: Serve the cocktail immediately to preserve its fresh and aromatic taste.
