“Penicillin” cocktail

The “Penicillin” cocktail is a modern classic drink that combines smoky, honey, and ginger notes. It was created in 2005 by bartender Sam Ross. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Scotch whisky (a blend of single malt and blended)
  • 22 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 22 ml honey syrup (honey and water in a 1:1 ratio)
  • 15 ml ginger syrup (or fresh ginger)
  • 7 ml peated (smoky) whisky for finishing
  • Ice

Preparation:

  1. Pour the Scotch whisky, lemon juice, honey, and ginger syrup into a shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake well.
  3. Strain the cocktail into a glass with large ice cubes.
  4. Carefully float a few drops of peated whisky on the surface for a smoky aroma.
