The Black Velvet cocktail is a sophisticated drink that perfectly combines dark beer (usually stout) and sparkling wine (champagne). It originated in 19th-century England and remains popular for its unique taste.

Ingredients:

  • Stout (e.g., Guinness) – 100 ml
  • Champagne or another sparkling wine – 100 ml

Instructions:

  1. Take a tall glass (e.g., flute or pint glass).
  2. Pour the chilled beer first, filling half the glass.
  3. Slowly add the champagne, using the back of a spoon to pour gently. This creates two layers if done carefully.
  4. The cocktail is ready to serve!

Tips:

  • Use chilled ingredients for the best flavor.
  • For variations, you can replace champagne with cider (this version is sometimes called the “Poor Man’s Black Velvet”).
